Counselling Northwest has been in existence for over twenty five years, run voluntarily by practising counsellors to establish and maintain a network with those working as or training to be counsellors in the region.

Our main purpose is to offer a range of CPD events, through regular evening sessions and longer, Saturday workshops.

Evening sessions are free to members, who also receive a discount on day events. Non members can attend for a fee.

Certificates of Attendance are given to all attending

Meetings are at The Beacon Centre, 6 London Street, Salford, M6 6QT.

Parking is next door at the Albion Academy

Directions from the M602

Follow the motorway to its end/beginning at J1, Salford.

Bear left on the slip road for A5063 (Albion Way). Follow this road for about ½ mile until it joins the A6 (Broad Street) at a set of traffic lights. Turn left and stay in the left lane for about ½ mile and move left onto the slip road marked for the A576. The slip road leads to a large traffic roundabout (Pendleton). Travel ¾ of the way round the roundabout and exit on to the A576 to Bury. After about ½ mile (passing through a set of traffic lights), there is a large Shell petrol station on the left hand side – turn right immediately after the station into London Street (not noticeably marked!). The road bends to the right and immediately on the left hand side is the Beacon Centre.

Workshops

Held on a Saturday, these sessions allow us to explore current research in greater depth, and put new skills into practice. Lunch and refreshments are provided and there is more time, through the breaks and interactive work, to engage with each other and connect.

Three Newsletters

Newsletters are published each September, January and April, and carry details of forthcoming and past meetings. These are emailed to CNW members, with paper copies available on request.

Articles and counselling related suggestions are welcome.

See the Newsletter page for the archive.
